In October of 2024, I was contacted by international contractor Bede Fitzsimmons, a software developer located in Australia. He hired me to create several styles of trading card display cases for his collectible trading card website, Flex My Cards.
Over the course of several months, he worked on developing the website's backend with React Three Fiber. I provided assistance with some material settings, and tailored models to allow for user customization options such as holographic cards. Today, the project is in closed beta and accepting sign ups.
All of my 3D models are extremely low polygon and optimized for web browser, using the same pipeline as mobile game app assets. Additionally, they are UV mapped in a way that allows users to see their specific trading card's image mapped correctly to the virtual representation of their card. Users can take photographs of their own cards via their smartphone's camera, which then are uploaded to Flex My Cards.
