Total Distortion VR was an unreleased fan project I worked on from 2016-2018 as a community college student. We were a small team aiming to improve our game development and production skills.
You are a videographer traveling through outer space on your trusty space ship. You explore fantastical alien worlds with your video camera, filming music videos for intergalactic musical superstars and making money on creating edits. The better your edits, the more you're paid.
I contributed stylized, optimized game assets, characters, and levels to create this fantastical alien realm, following the art direction of the original game while giving everything a fresh and updated twist. Additionally, I ensured that all assets contributed by others on our team were properly optimized to run in VR by working closely with the lead developer.
This opportunity was one of the most important stepping stones on my path as a 3D artist. All projects showcased here were hero props and characters. Modeling was done in Autodesk Maya, PBR materials were made with Quixel Mixer.
